Security Privacy Data

PII Scanner

Finds and masks sensitive info like emails, names, and credit card numbers from your text before you share it.

About This Tool

We built this for anyone who's ever worried about accidentally sharing private data when using public AI models or collaborative docs. It's a sanitization utility. It scans your text for 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII)—like phone numbers, SSNs, or addresses—and replaces them with placeholders like [EMAIL].

It isn't a secure vault or a tool for classified government data. It's a protective layer for your everyday digital sharing.

The Problem It Solves

Accidentally leaking personal details can be a security risk or even a legal problem (like GDPR). Manually finding and removing every detail from a long log file or email chain is a total pain and it's easy to miss something. This app removes that 'privacy friction' by automating the whole detection process.

When to Use This

  • Before you paste sensitive error logs or customer feedback into a public AI assistant.
  • You're creating an 'anonymized' case study for a public presentation or report.
  • You're cleaning up a dataset before sharing it with a third-party developer.

How It Works

The app uses an LLM trained on entity extraction. It doesn't just look for 'exact matches'—it understands the context of the words. It knows the difference between a random number and a phone number, or a common noun and a person's name, and consistently replaces them throughout the document.
